Why purchase insurance?

Even though every care will be taken in the transit of your goods, you may appreciate that the rigours of transit means that, on occasion, loss and/or damage to your goods may occur. Insurance is an option to protect against these circumstances.

How to purchase insurance cover?

The first $120 is insured free to the customer. If you choose to insure your shipment when the value is above this amount, you simply select the insurance option when arranging the shipment online.

Who to contact about your insurance policy coverage?

Your first point of contact about the policy will be a representative of Ship2Anywhere. Feel free to call our office on 1300 918 372 . If we cannot answer your query we shall refer you to the insurance broker we distribute this product on behalf of.

Our policy covers you for most risks of physical loss or damage. The cover is based on the Institute Cargo Clauses (A) as revised in 2009 in so far as they apply to your shipment. As a guide, the following exclusions apply:
1. All items listed in the prohibited and/or the restricted items on www.ship2anywhereusa.com including (but not restricted to) works of art, antiques, precious metals and stones, bullion, cheques, credit cards, vouchers, securities, bonds, deeds, household goods and personal effects (domestic transits within Australia), and bills of exchange;

6. Loss damage or expense caused by insufficient packing;
7. Loss arising from the use of an atomic weapon of war.

Policy limit?

Our coverage limit is $3,000 per shipment. However if you wish to insure a shipment/s above this amount please contact us.

Basis of settlement

Please note that in the event of a claim you will need to be able to prove the value of the item/s insured. New replacement cost cover If you insure the new replacement value, you receive the new replacement cost. Market value cover If you insure the market value (eg. second-hand value) you receive the current market value, or a proportion of the value in the event of partial damage or loss. Claims are paid at the ‘cost’ value, less the GST if you are registered for input tax credits.

Cost of insurance

Cost of insurance Insurance for the first $120 is included in the cost of shipping your item/s through www.ship2anywhereusa.com If your item/s have a value above this amount and you choose to purchase insurance, you will be charged 2.50% on the value above $120 Please note that there is NO insurance cover available whatsoever for items included on the prohibited and/restricted goods .

How do I select the amount to be insured?

It is important that you insure your goods for their full value. The means that you should tell us an accurate new replacement value. If the declared value of goods is less than their actual value at the time of the loss or damage, the amount of the claim will be reduced in the same proportion as the declared value bears to the actual value.

Conditions

Conditions do apply to your policy. Full details are set out in the insurance company’s policy wording, which is available on request.
